Targeting People's Names With Adwords

There's an interesting thread at Search Engine Watch that discusses using people's names in Adwords to sell products (or for any other use I suppose).

This has been a common practice for books sales for quite some time. You always bid on the authors name of competitive books and other phrases related to to the topic of the book - it's just good marketing. Maybe this is just one of the first times the issue has been raised in the seo realm.

While I doubt Google would ever consider banning the use of personal names, it's an interesting discussion none the less.
